"Happy girls are the prettiest"-Audrey Hepburn

No one likes Mondays, but they are a little more enjoyable with laughter. There is always something to smile about and be thankful for.

What made you smile this Monday?

If the shoe fits

The saying goes, "to understand a man, you've got to walk a mile in his shoes, whether they fit or not." Whether those shoes are Carrie's Louboutin pumps or Blair's Jimmy Choo heels, every woman has a unique style and personality.

Some women, fictional or not, have a particular characteristic that many people admire and wish to gain for themselves. These are my five favorite personality traits and the women that encompass them perfectly.

1. Blair Waldorf's confidence

2. Kate Middleton's sense of family

3. Carrie Bradshaw's economic priorities

4. Emma Watson's class

5. and once again Blair Waldorf's determination

Having role models is important. Whether they inspire you to improve yourself or simply inspire your wardrobe.
Who's shoes would you like to walk in for a day?

The Misadventure

The saying goes “everything happens for a reason.” But how can you be positive that you are on the right path, unless you don’t just meander off the path, but jump off the map.

Two years ago I decided to attend Texas Christian University. It was perfect in every aspect to me: far away from home, something new, something different, and most importantly something that no one else had done. It was perfect and I was thrilled and anxious.

From the moment I stepped onto campus my life turned into a bad Lemony Snicket novel. My college life was becoming a series of unfortunate events. From social life to school life and from the diva roommate to awkward friends, I was miserable and stuck nine hours from home.

Between the tears, I made adventures. I drove to Wacky Waco for Halloween to visit my best friend, Morgan, who attended Baylor. That Halloween:  I went to the zoo, crashed a frat party, ran from the police in a Cadillac with students I didn’t know, had a drink thrown in my face by a kid dressed as Tebow, and finally had my first Whataburger.

That semester I also attended a free Blake Shelton concert with Morgan and some friends. I went to countless themed parties, flew to Kansas City, Missouri to party at Beta formal as my boyfriend’s date, got in zone box tickets to a Dallas Cowboys game with friends, and have the pictures to remember the bus ride to the TCU vs. Baylor football game with Phi Delt.

At the end of a semester at TCU I made the decision to transfer the University of Missouri (Mizzou).

“Everything happens for a reason.” Funny enough I never believed in that silly saying until I transferred schools and took my very crazy misadventure. Because I never applied to Mizzou in High School and without my Texan misadventure, I couldn’t imagine where I might be.

One this is for sure, my misadventure turned into an adventure that led me to a school that I love, with friends that are wonderful, but it thought me that when things don’t go quite as planned the only thing to do is smile and get excited for your next big adventure.
